Song Inspired By Childhood

A song is worth a thousand emotions
And calls a billion thousand sensations.
Reminds me of a childhood
Of which I must abandon to reach adulthood.

No more dreaming
And those childish calls of adventuring.
Brings tears to my eyes
When I’m forced to throw away a childish disguise.

Can’t be a little girl no more
And fantasies and fairy tales I got to ignore.
Bury away the 7-year-old lass
And become a lady at last.

Enter a new high school
And I must act so much more mature
To avoid looking like a fool.
But gotta continue being myself and I’ll be secure.

Innocence is escaping
And it was once so brilliant,
But I guess I can’t be disagreeing.
A child I was once is now so distant.

“Go get my shovel
And we’ll dig a deep hole
To bury the castle”
And I won’t get back what adulthood stole.
